From 2013 through to 2017 and onwards, KaraTau Consulting were tasked by BALTABEK KUANDYKOV, the President of the Association of Petroleum Geologists of Kazakhstan, to create a number technical presentations that could be shown to the KAZAKH authorities in order to obtain approvals required for launching such an ambitious project – to drill a well deeper than anyone had done before to explore the depths of the Pre-Caspian Basin.
Thus, the Eurasia Project was born, to drill an ultra-deep 15,000 m (49,215 feet) vertical stratigraphic-parametric well to explore the pre-Devonian formations of this enormous region spanning North West Kazakhstan and the Southern Russian Federation.
